Annual Camp for Young Health Ambassadors

As part of activities for in-school adolescent clubs, students are trained as ambassadors for health promotion in their schools and communities. They carry out small-scale projects to promote health and well-being within or outside their schools. These projects are show cased at an annual camp organised by the Ghana Health Service in collaboration with the Ghana Education Service and Health Partners.

Every year members of Adolescent Health Clubs known as Health Ambassadors in schools across the country participate in this camp during the vacation. Young people are supported to organise and put together activities for the Camp. Some of the activities carried out include:

  • Comprehensive Sexuality Education (CSE) Sessions moderated by young people
  • Exhibition of club projects on Adolescent Health by health ambassadors
  • Medical Screening
  • Nutrition clinic
  • Community Outreach
  • Games and sports
